Acne & Acne Scar Treatments in Tysons & McLean, VA
Treating Acne and Acne Scars
Active breakouts and the scars they leave behind are two different problems, and we treat them differently. Congested, acne-prone skin responds to treatments that clear and resurface the skin’s upper layers, such as chemical peels, facials and HydraFacial®. Pitted or uneven texture from past breakouts needs treatments that rebuild collagen beneath the scar, such as microneedling, radiofrequency microneedling and CO2 laser resurfacing.
At a consultation at our Tysons location, your provider assesses your skin and recommends a plan, often a series of sessions, built around your type of acne or scarring.
Acne & Acne Scar Treatments We Offer
Quadessy™ RF Microneedling
Quadessy™ delivers synchronized radiofrequency energy to three layers of the skin in one pass, stimulating new collagen beneath scar tissue. Over a series of sessions, pitted or uneven texture from past breakouts gradually smooths and scarring becomes less noticeable, often in less time in the chair than older single-depth RF microneedling devices.
Morpheus8®
Morpheus8® combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen and improve skin texture, addressing acne scars alongside fine lines and wrinkles on the face, neck and body. Quadessy™ is our newer RF microneedling platform for the same goals; your provider will recommend one based on your skin.
Microneedling with SkinPen®
Microneedling with SkinPen® creates controlled micro-channels in the skin to stimulate collagen production, improving acne scars, enlarged pores and overall texture. It is suitable for a wide range of skin types and achieves improvement without the need for extensive downtime or recovery.
Cartessa® Helix CO2 Laser
For deeper acne scarring, the Cartessa® Helix CO2 laser resurfaces the skin by combining ablative and non-ablative energy, supporting collagen production and natural renewal to enhance the appearance of acne scars, texture and tone over time.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels exfoliate the outer layers of the skin to address acne scars, sun damage and uneven tone on the face, neck and hands. Peel depth is matched to your skin, so a lighter peel can keep acne-prone skin clear while a deeper peel targets texture.
HydraFacial®
HydraFacial® cleanses, extracts and hydrates in one treatment, addressing congested skin and enlarged pores on the face, neck and décolletage. It is a gentle option for keeping acne-prone skin clear between corrective treatments.

FAQs
Can you treat acne scars on darker skin tones?
Several of our options are designed for a wide range of skin types. Your provider will examine your skin and recommend the safest approach for your tone at your consultation.
How many sessions will I need for acne scars?
Scar treatments such as Quadessy™, Morpheus8® and SkinPen® are typically performed as a series, with skin gradually smoothing between sessions as collagen rebuilds. Your provider will outline a plan for your scarring. Individual results vary.
Is there downtime?
It varies by treatment. HydraFacial® and light peels have little to none, microneedling achieves improvement without extensive downtime, Quadessy™ requires minimal downtime compared with more invasive resurfacing, and CO2 resurfacing involves more recovery. Your provider will explain what to expect.
Can I treat active acne and scars at the same time?
Often, yes. Your provider may begin by calming active breakouts with peels or HydraFacial® and then move to collagen-building treatments for the scars once the skin is clear.
Do you see clients from outside Tysons and McLean?
